Work on industry projects set by companies in Vietnam

Want to build cultural and professional experience? On this programme, you’ll work in a group under the guidance of experienced mentors to complete an industry project from an international company in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Western Sydney

Over four weeks, you’ll engage in cultural activities and professional workshops to develop your cultural and professional understanding in Vietnam.

Programme Format:

  • Group Projects  In groups of 2-6 you will be assigned a professional project. Your mentor will be able to answer questions, provide information and guidance. You will present your solution and a written playbook at the end.
  • Group Activities – Cultural & Industry Visits, Lectures & Workshops, Food Tour and Language Classes.

Application Process

We will request a refundable deposit of $200 AUD if you’re offered a place on the programme. Only once the deposit has been paid will your place be secured.

1. REGISTER INTEREST

Fill in the form below to register your interest. Once submitted, our friendly team will be in touch to establish your eligibility and answer any questions you may have.

2. APPLICATION FORM & AGREEMENT

Once you understand the programme details, complete the full application form and we will assess your application with your university. If awarded a place and you’re happy to proceed, just sign our agreement and pay the refundable deposit to secure your place. 

3. ONBOARDING

Successful candidates will be informed of the next steps for programme onboarding following the application deadline, and supported through the necessary pre-departure steps.

Programme Details

Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam

Formerly known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City is the capital of Vietnam. This bustling city is the business and financial hub of Vietnam. With it’s classic French architecture, sleek skyscrapers and mixture of French, Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine it’s no wonder why millions of tourists visit the capital each year.

Academic Credit

This program may be taken for academic credit or you may participate without seeking academic credit.
To be eligible to receive one of the available New Colombo Plan funding grants, you must be approved to receive academic credit for this experience.

You must apply for academic credit before submitting your application to WSU as credit cannot be approved retrospectively. For questions relating to credit or funding, please get in touch with the WSU team.

Funding

Before committing to the programme, your university and Pagoda will work with you to clarify funding you may be eligible for along with any outstanding costs you are responsible for paying.

There are a limited number of New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants available to help offset the cost of the programme. To establish what funding you can receive, please make sure you apply to both WSU and Pagoda projects before 22nd September. Then follow instructions carefully as funding and places are allocated on first come, first served basis.

Important Note: Receiving a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant is not mandatory to be eligible for the programme.
