Open to all students of Pagoda Projects’ Partners.

Students taking part have the option of a partially funded 6-12 week internship programme* in Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City & Hanoi) or Thailand (Bangkok). Regardless of destination, internship and sector, Pagoda will support you before, during and after the programme, provide quality accommodation, assist with the required visa and be there in-country to ensure an amazing experience!

(*) All internships are full-time positions, Monday-Friday each week for a duration of 6-12 weeks. Your institution may have specific duration or location requirements. Please get in touch to find out more.

Australia

Studying in Australia? You must…

  • Be an Australian citizen
  • Be studying at Pagoda Partner University 
  • Currently be completing an undergraduate degree
  • Be able to receive university credit for this internship
  • Not be a citizen or permanent resident of the host location
  • Have not previously received a New Colombo Plan mobility grant for an in-country experience
  • Complete the separate application process required by your university prior to the deadline. NOTE These deadlines are likely to differ to Pagoda’s

New Zealand

Studying in New Zealand? You must… 

  • Be at least 18 years old at the date of applying
  • Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • Have been a resident in New Zealand for at least 12 of the previous 24 months
  • Not be an immediate relative of an Education New Zealand staff member or selection panel member
  • Be medically fit to travel (successful applicants will need to agree to complete any routine medical checks performed at the border, such as COVID-19 tests)
  • Be able to attend the full duration of your proposed programme overseas
  • Be eligible for an entry visa into your host country
  • Have not previously received an Individual Prime Minister’s Scholarship for Asia
  • Complete the separate application process required by Education New Zealand

Singapore

Studying in Singapore? You must…

  • Be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
  • Study full-time at a local Institute of Higher Learning
  • Not be an immediate family member of any key shareholder, or associated with the company in any way that may give rise to any conflict of interest
  • Complete the separate application process required by Enterprise Singapore

Application Process

You are welcome to apply as soon as possible as places are limited. There will be a $200 AUD refundable programme deposit that will be requested if offered a place on the programme. Only once the deposit has been paid will your place be secured.

2. INTERNSHIP SELECTION

If selected, our friendly team will be in contact to discuss your preferences, find the most suitable options and coach you through the interviewing process with your chosen host companies. All internships are listed on our website.

3. ONBOARDING

You’ve confirmed your internship – congratulations! Next we’ll be in touch about booking flights and sorting your student visa (if necessary). You’ll gain access to the Pagoda Portal to start your onboarding and we’ll organise a live information session with you to answer any questions.

Pagoda Portal

All programmes are managed on the Pagoda Portal - a digital hub for our student community. This is where you can track your progress, register for events, access skills courses, network with other interns and request additional support.

Programme Details

An internship is the best way to gain exposure in your chosen field – but this is way more than work experience. Our in-person programmes provide you with the opportunity to make a real difference within your chosen company. You’ll work on industry projects and use what you’ve learnt at university to make decisions that have a real impact.

Outside of your internship, you’ll continue your professional development through skills courses, careers coaching and organised talks with industry professionals. Our team will support you to achieve your full potential and organise events, activities and dinners to make you feel at home. 

And you won’t be alone! You’ll get to know other students on the programme and spend your free time exploring the city, living and working like a local.
