Come Together Community
Come Together Community (CTC) is made up of a collection of like-minded fellows who care about the community, helping out, and making a difference. The founders of CTC have collectively lived in Zhuhai and China for over 40 years, and consider Zhuhai home.
InternChina is a proud sponsor of CTC, and also one of the official organisers of CTC’s annual charity music festival each year, Come Together. The aim of the NGO is to help people in Zhuhai by uniting the expat and local communities to fundraise for charitable causes and local philanthropies.
Come Together Music Festival
In November 2017, the 6th annual Come Together Charity Music Festival was held. It was an extremely successful event, with a total of 900+ people attending and raising a total of 255,000 RMB. The event has volunteers, bands and sponsor work alongside food and beverage vendors, the schools, the venue and more local groups to raise money for local children in need.
As CTC firmly believes transparency is of utmost importance, you can view all the income and expenses of the Come Together Music Festival 2017 here to see how they got the total amount of 255,000 RMB.

Charity Promotion Association of Zhuhai
We are delighted to be partnered with an organisation that is passionate about what they do. The Charity Promotion Association of Zhuhai, also known as CPAZ, work with vulnerable sectors of the community by promoting social activism and public welfare. This is seen across many different projects they operate, including the annual Come Together fundraiser.
CPAZ is an official civil society organisation, and they are currently working on providing sponsorship for students in the local area. This sponsorship helps to provide students who have lost their parents and are struggling to stay in education, with tuition fees, books, and uniforms- all the necessary equipment required for basic education.
The organisation was established in 2005 and legalised as a registered charity in 2010. The charity has both a local and global vision for the future, and now has over 2000 registered volunteers, 250 members, and over 20 member units. With each project, they envision better development of public and social welfare throughout China, which includes assisting the establishment of social equality in Zhuhai.
What InternChina Do
Every year, InternChina help raise money for CPAZ by hosting a bar at the annual Come Together festival. We are partners in the CTC community, and the ultimate goal is to bring people together from all cultures and walks of life to celebrate music! We raise money for great charities with 100% transparency, and we are very proud to be involved with such a brilliant cause!
Last Saturday, on September 12th from 3pm – 11pm, the 4th annual Come Together Charity Music Festival was held at the Beishan Theatre in Zhuhai. Come Together is an event organised and managed by the CT Community (CTC) and its Partners.
All members of CTC, as well as the volunteers on Saturday without whom it would have been impossible to make an event as such happen, are like-minded fellows who care about giving something back to the community, helping out, and making a difference.
The ultimate goal is to bring people together from all cultures and walks of life to celebrate music and raise money for great charities with 100% transparency.
There are no words to describe how awesome this day was! Being assigned the role of the Raffle Ticket Sales Manager, it was an honour to be part of such a great charity event.
The village around Beishan Hall is simply beautiful and it gives an insight in the “old town” of Zhuhai andhow the now 1,6 million people city must have looked 30 years ago.
The venue was divided into four zones: an indoor Main Stage with amazing live bands from Macau, Hong Kong and Zhuhai, an outdoor garden area to relax, a Food and Beverage area with delicious international and local food and, new for 2015, an Outdoor Children’s Area with all sorts of games and activities for Children organised by international schools in Zhuhai.
The doors of Beishan Theatre opened at 15:00. Shortly after, the first live band, Kewl Jam was warming up the audience. Also, kids had the chance to show their talent to the visitors. Mary gavea really impressive live performance on the piano which was followed by an adorable children’s dance.
Half way through the programme, ZAS (the Zhuhai Autism Society) was proving that a handicap is no drawback when it comes to musical talent. 13 Families affected by autism performed “Boundless Love” in the medium of sign language and chorus as well as “A World Filled With Love”. But that was not all, a drum solo – Laski March, by Enquan and Zhensheng – fascinated the crowd.
Also the bands The Spit Shine Spurs, The Sun Yat Sens, The Vibe, Tommy Chung and @One were rocking the stage and got rewarded with great applause.
Towards the end, a so called “Sexy Dance” left the public breathless and the winners of the raffle as well as the auction were announced.
Last but not least, every one was rocking to the headliners The High Rollers, who’s lead singer affectionately known as, Billy Da Kid, paid for the event’s sound setup in full for the event. The band literally brought all people together and while playing crowd favourites such as let it be, imagine, hey Jude, and Rock My Baby they invited the volunteers on the stage and everyone was dancing together and looking back on an amazing day.
The CT Community has its very own Non-Profit Charity Organisation, Zhuhai Western and Chinese Love & Music Exchange Centre. The Come Together Charity Music Festival primarily raised funds for 2 great local charities:
CPAZ (Charity Promotion Association of Zhuhai) 珠海市爱心促进会, which promotes social activism and public welfare through a range of projects and aims to provide compassionate assistance to vulnerable sectors of society.
ZAS (Zhuhai Autism Society) 珠海市自闭症协, which is a non-profit organization set up by the parents of autistic children under the auspices of the Zhuhai Civil Affairs Bureau to offer the appropriate education and help the children and young adults gain the skills they will need to have fulfilling lives on a personal but also professional level.
Everyone’s hard work paid off and once again thanks to all the wonderful people helping out!!

With the Ice Bucket Challenge drowning everything else on social media, I thought I’d stick to the charity theme with this post, but stay away from the ice cubes!
In China, virtually all the vast amount of charitable work is coordinated by government departments. However, many NGOs also operate in China and here at InternChina we are proud to work with some brilliant organisations in Zhuhai and Chengdu in particular.
In Zhuhai we have been involved in coordinating an annual charity event called Come Together for 3 years – www.ctcommunity.org. The event raises money for the Zhuhai Autism Society and CPAZ, a children’s charity we have also placed interns with in the past. CPAZ supports families who cannot afford the basic equipment, travel and lunch costs for their children at school, as well as providing school fees for children from migrant families who do not have access to free education. It’s a brilliant cause and IC are very proud to be involved! I am visiting Zhuhai in a couple of weeks and am excited about Come Together 2014 on the 13th September!
In Chengdu we are also organising a charity event on 14th September. The inaugural Chengdu Charity Football Tournament, which we are organising alongside the British Chamber of Commerce SW China, will support the Chengdu NGO ‘CRDF’. The Chinese Relief & Development foundation (CRDF) provides relief for victims of natural disasters, primarily in Sichuan province. We have placed several interns with the NGO and are very proud to support their work in Chengdu.
Our NGO internships are listed here: https://internchina.com/law-ngo-internships-in-zhuhai/ and here https://internchina.com/law-ngo-internships-in-chengdu/.

As I was a member of the CPAZ since 2007, CPAZ is a NGO, this NGO started eight years ago in Zhuhai and was officially registered in 2010. The organization is a social, non-profit group organization which provides public welfare and charity services for the public and social development through Education. It was formed and run voluntarily by people from all walks of life who care for, love and support the charity and humanitarian aid. Mission: the organization devotes itself to the development of charity and public welfare in Zhuhai City, and also organizes and establishes an optimistic public welfare team to work on these projects. This is done through carrying out humanitarian activities such as promoting Education and providing the necessary logistics or finance so as to assure that all have access to Education. This is possible through organized events, projects and programs directed to assist socially vulnerable groups.
As I am one of the longest volunteers and organizer there, I am used to going to charity events all the time, such as going to visit schools, visit families, charity sales etc.
The 7th art auction took place on Saturday, December 7. The auction included donations of artworks which consisted of calligraphy, paintings, selected teapots, jade elements and other mechanical pieces of art. All proceeds raised will be donated to of Dr. Cui Zimo’s charity project, “The Blue Angel Education foundation”. I went there to volunteer for the whole afternoon, we raised 235,400 RMB from the Auction which is great as this will be used to help lots of kids’ education.
In September, InternChina had the Come Together charity event. As I was very familiar with this NGO, we decided to corporate with CPAZ to give out the money to the kids’ education. This year Come Together team won one of the best partners in 2013. We were invited by CPAZ for the 3rd annual dinner on Sunday, December 8th, it was a great chance to meet many nice people. They also had an auction during the dinner, the best part was the auction of a second hand bike, the first person paid 5000 RMB, but he donated it to the auction again, someone then paid 6000 RMB to get it and then donated it again and again, in the end the bike got almost 30,000 RMB donation. All the money will go to help a family, this family has 2 Haemophilia children and the dad had passed away 5 years ago. During the dinner, we got almost 60,000 RMB donation in total.
I also got “ the best volunteer in 2013” award that night, I will try my best to do more volunteer work when I have time as it brings me lots of happiness when doing it , and it’s my honor to help people within my ability.
If you want to take part in some volunteering with the InternChina’s staff, don’t hesitate to apply now!

What’s Next? How can YOU help?
Come Together 2014 is currently in the process of being organized so that we can effectively lobby and secure bigger donations for next year’s event. But WE NEED YOUR HELP! How? Easy:
1) Donations pledged to the Charity
2) Prizes for the lucky draws
3) Cash Sponsorships to cover the costs of the event (even though the actual costs are pretty low, it would be great if all could be covered so that all the profit from the drinks could directly go to the charity fund)
4) Alcohol Sponsorships (to be sold during venue-to raise funds)
5) Band to perform!
6) Volunteers to help with the above and with the event itself.
Remember to keep September 2014 free in your calendar for Come Together 2014!!!
This past weekend, the InternChina Zhuhai office was main organizer of the “Come Together” charity event, which took place on September 8th from 3pm to 9pm at the Live bar. Everything at the event was completely donated: The owner of the Live bar didn´t charge any fee, the local bars took part and donated the beers and spirits, the restaurants donated raffle prizes.
One night before the event the Zhuhai Office went out to the clubs and bars in Zhuhai to promote this event! It was fun and a nice experience to see how different the reactions of Foreign and Chinese people are when you start talking about this kind of events.
On Sunday September 8th we had about 30 volunteers helping out with preparation before the event, selling beers and spirits, cleaning and collecting the donations. Chinese and Foreigners came together to work for a good thing. Four live bands: Tommy Chung, The Buhao Boys, Phil O´Flaherty and The High Rollers were playing during the event and ensured a great atmosphere.
In addition, there were raffle prizes including a night in a five star hotel in Zhuhai or a day in a hot spring. We also had a date night auction where the highest bidder won an evening of the volunteer auctionees time.
The money for beers, spirits, raffle tickets and the money we raise with the auction went directly into donation boxes. In total we raised over 100,000 RMB. All the money is going to the organization “Cpaz”. With this amount of money “Cpaz” is able to support around 160 children without a Zhuhai “hukou” in education. It covers lunch, transportation, study material, school uniform and a school bag for one term. It was a day full of fun and positive energy because everyone knew we came together for the children!
Giving 60 children the opportunity to go to school- that was the headline of the day in Zhuhai. On September 1st InternChina helped organise a Charity-Event ‘Come together’ in the Beishan theatre to help raise money to buy children equipment to go to school.
The collected money from the Charity Event ‘Come together’ was given to the children today at their new school. The head-organizers of ‘Come together’ gave the envelopes to the children and got compensated with an affecting speech of one of the kids.
InternChina and a lot of InternChina interns helped to collect money for the school education of 50 children. Several live bands and DJs, a BBQ, a donation and a raffle helped to collect enough money to buy 60 children their whole school equipment.
After the event was such a big success and after everyone saw the smiling children practicing their English, everybody was sure, that there will be a ‘Come together’ next year.
Thanks again everybody for helping and for making all of this happen.
Helping to provide local Chinese children with an education at school while listening to great live-music. For most of us here in Zhuhai, that was the main priority this weekend. On Saturday 1st InternChina helped organise a Charity-Event ‘Come together’ in the Beishan theatre to help raise money to buy children equipment to go to school.
Several bands from HongKong and Macau, like The High Rollers, Tommy Chung and the Chicago Blues and The Bu Hao Boys came to be a part of ‘Come together’ and made sure the Event became a big Party. While helping to collect money for a good cause, people also had a good time dancing and laughing the whole night, in very impressive scenery.
The Beishan Theatre and the Beishan Hall were built in the Qing dynasty, where the traditional Chinese Flair will hook you in immediately. Beishan was surrounded by small alleys, small Chinese shops, where men were playing cards till late at night and people were enjoying a barbecue on the street. It really did feel like you are in a completely different world.
Having fun in that incredible atmosphere made everyone excited to help out and be part of this charity project. All the intern volunteers had important tasks that they needed to do which included: coordinating the seven live bands, helping with the sound and light on stage, arranging the raffle and the donation and a lot more.
The money raised means that there is enough money collected to buy more than 50 kids their whole school equipment, so overall the charity event was a success!
