This Foundation is a think tank and a not-for-profit education foundation working to make Taiwan a more sustainable, diverse, and inclusive place. Their policy research and public advocacy focuses on areas of particular importance to the sustainable development of Taiwan, with a particular emphasis on the 1) New Southbound Policy, 2) Taiwan’s Soft Power, and 3) 2030 Bilingual Country Plan. They believe in evidence-based policy, and thus conduct systematic, logical, objective, and empirically rigorous research on issues of particular relevance to the development of Taiwan. In addition, their think tank focuses on policy generation, recommendations, public discourse, and deliberation. They host various types of public events, forums, panels, and boot camps to unlock the value and talents of grassroots movements. They trust that their in-depth engagement will generate public policies that will best serve the needs of the Taiwanese public and its prosperous future.

Internship Position:

Communications Internship

Internship Description:

  • Drafting Tweets, and Facebook and LinkedIn posts
  • Drafting posts for the website requiring research, writing, and publishing via the content management system
  • Conceptualizing and creating audience-aware infographics, presentations, custom illustrations, process diagrams, graphs and charts, icons, and other collateral
  • Updating various social marketing platforms such as Youtube
  • Researching, selecting, and optimizing photos for use on the website
  • Researching and writing stories on Thinktank staff
  • Supporting the IT consultant in making edits to existing content on websites and blogs
  • Assisting the preparation of publications and/or outreach materials
  • Updating contact databases
  • Performing administrative assignments in support of office activities
  • Additional duties may be assigned to facilitate the daily operations of the think tank

Internship Requirements:

  • Current student or recent graduate (within one year from the date of degree completion) in any field
  • Previous experience in utilizing graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, or Photoshop
  • Fluency in PowerPoint and presentation tools
  • Experience in professional settings using social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter required
  • Interest in Asia policy issues: demonstrated interest in Taiwan, cross-Strait issues, or Asia-Pacific studies preferred
  • Must have impeccable attention to detail and coordination skills
  • Must have the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with colleagues at all levels
  • Strong problem-solving and critical reasoning skills
  • Chinese language skills are preferred, albeit not required
  • Working knowledge of a Southeast Asian language will be considered an advantage
