Role:

Finance and Operations Intern

Internship Description:

The Finance and Operations Intern will work closely with the Finance and Operations team to provide support in various finance and operational tasks. The intern will gain experience in finance, accounting, and operations functions of a Fintech startup, and will report to the Finance Manager and COO.

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports, including budget vs actuals, cash flow statements, and other financial analyses as needed
  • Support the Finance team in month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis of accounts
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payment processing, and collections
  • Support the COO and Operations team in managing day-to-day operational activities, including vendor management, contract administration, and process improvement initiatives
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Support the team in ad-hoc projects and analysis, as needed
  • Provide administrative support to the Finance and Operations team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and maintaining files and records
  • Collaborate with other teams within the organization to support cross-functional initiatives as needed

Internship Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Familiarity with financial statements and accounting concepts
  • Interest in Fintech and the financial services industry
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
