Role:
AI and Data Science Intern
Internship Description:
- Data Preparation and Management:
- Assist in gathering, refining, and organising data sets for training AI models.
- Support the setup and upkeep of databases and data storage solutions, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for AI applications.
- AI Model Development Support:
- Collaborate in refining and fine-tuning AI models, including LLMs and other machine learning models, under the guidance of senior team members.
- Contribute to integrating RAG techniques to enhance model performance through external knowledge sources.
- Research and Evaluation:
- Conduct thorough research into the latest advancements in General AI, LLMs, RAG, and vector databases to identify potential solutions and enhancements for ongoing projects.
- Evaluate diverse AI models and algorithms to determine their suitability for various tasks within copilot development.
- Presentation and Proposal Development:
- Aid in crafting engaging presentations and compelling proposals by synthesising research findings, model performance metrics, and potential AI application use cases.
- Assist in visualising data and model outputs for clear and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Prototype Development and Testing:
- Participate in prototyping new AI features or copilots using relevant programming languages and tools.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of AI models and features to ensure compliance with specified requirements and performance standards.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
- Contribute to documenting development processes, model architectures, and configuration settings for internal reference and potential team knowledge sharing.
- Assist in creating educational materials or guides for team members on the effective use and development of AI-driven products.
Internship Requirements
- Educational Background: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme related to Computer Science, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence. A foundation in these fields through coursework or projects is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python, given its widespread use in AI and data science; basic understanding of AI concepts, including principles of machine learning and rudimentary chatbot functionality.
- Research and Learning Aptitude: Enthusiasm for exploring emerging AI technologies, with a proactive approach to self-directed learning and research under guidance; curiosity about AI trends, particularly in areas like General AI, LLMs, and fundamental data handling techniques.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to actively contribute to team discussions and effectively prepare documentation or presentations.
- Collaborative Spirit: Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment, embracing feedback and fostering a collaborative problem-solving ethos.
- Tools and Technologies: Eagerness to learn and utilise AI-related tools and platforms, with a readiness to familiarise oneself with APIs and basic data management practices. Previous experience is not mandatory, but a willingness to learn is crucial.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a logical approach to addressing challenges encountered during development tasks.
