We are seeking a Journalist Internship to gain hands-on experience in luxury lifestyle journalism. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a prestigious publication and gain exposure to high-profile brands, exclusive events, and leading creatives from across the globe.

Journalism Intern

Internship Description:

  • Article Research & Writing: You’ll be responsible for pitching and writing compelling articles, interviews, and features that align with IRK’s unique editorial voice. You will conduct thorough research to gather all necessary information, statistics, and cultural context for your assigned stories.
  • Interview Preparation & Conducting: You’ll prepare insightful interview questions and conduct interviews with influential designers, artists, and cultural figures. You will then transcribe these interviews for publication.
  • Event Coverage: You’ll assist with coverage of exclusive events, including fashion weeks, exhibitions, and new hotel openings, both in person and remotely. You’ll also be responsible for writing timely reports and reviews for our website and social media channels.
  • Fact-Checking & Editorial Standards: You will be a key part of our commitment to accuracy by verifying all information, names, dates, and references before publication. You will also ensure all articles meet IRK’s style guide and high editorial standards.
  • Digital Publishing & SEO: You’ll be responsible for uploading articles to our Content Management System, ensuring correct formatting, compelling headlines, and proper SEO keywords. You will also select appropriate images, add captions, and ensure correct crediting.
  • Trend Monitoring & Story Development: You’ll track emerging stories, trends, and news in IRK’s core sectors to identify potential coverage opportunities. You’ll also be encouraged to suggest innovative story angles that can work across our print and digital platforms.

N.B. tasks and projects may vary depending on current priorities. Specific projects and responsibilities will be discussed during an interview.

Internship Requirements:

  • A strong passion for journalism with a keen interest in luxury lifestyle, fashion, and culture.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • The ability to conduct independent research and work to tight deadlines.
  • A proactive and motivated approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with British English spelling and grammar is a must.
  • An understanding of SEO principles and digital content publishing is a plus.
