Project Manager Intern

Internship Description:

Possible tasks and projects include:

  • Follow up on a number of administrative tasks related to each interview
  • Maintains and updates contact information
  • Organizes and maintains a calendar of meetings, events, and appointments for the editors and editorial team
  • Directs all content, including digital files, writing, interviews, transcripts, manuscripts, etc., through the production and archiving process
  • Assists with the preparation of forms, reports, and presentations

N.B. tasks and projects may vary depending on current priorities. Specific projects and responsibilities will be discussed during an interview.

Internship Requirements:

  • Excellent English language proficiency
  • Great writing skills
  • Capable of handling sensitive information with discretion and maintaining the confidentiality

Social Media Specialist Intern

Internship Description:

Possible tasks and projects include:

  • Manage the social media accounts of 2 initiatives (a book-in-the-making and an art project) including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, and Telegram
  • Conduct research to identify relevant trends and topics in order to create engaging content for each platform—to be reviewed by the editorial team—aiming at increasing brand awareness and following
  • Meet weekly with the editorial team to review the content plan—including updates on the book’s production, the “Lyme world” agenda, etc
  • Create a comprehensive editorial calendar and ensure that all posts go live in a timely manner
  • Monitor engagement to identify trends in audience behavior and growth opportunities
  • Monitor social media channels for comments, questions, and concerns from followers and respond according to prepped material
  • Increase website traffic through SEO best practices and link-building strategies
  • Train a substitute Social Media Specialist at the end of your internship term

Editorial Assistant Intern

Internship Description:

The book-in-the-making “Lyme Chronicles” threads together personal stories (based on interviews) of patients, loved ones, and professionals in many fields in search of answers—heroes all—to portray the day-to-day struggles and triumphs of facing up to an enigmatic disease. With this internship, you will hone skills necessary for a career in writing-related fields (e.g. publishing, journalism, media) and support an altruistic cause: to raise awareness about tick-borne illness prevention.

Possible tasks and projects include:

  • Transcribe 8 long-form interviews (2 hours each) from audio recordings
  • Write a 1- to 2-page synthesis of each interview
  • Highlight areas of particular interest in each interview
  • Write questions that are relevant to the interviewees’ story, for use in follow-up interviews
  • Meet weekly with the editorial team to discuss progress, clarify questions, suggest lines of inquiry
