Introduction to the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to manage our award-winning global internship programme in Bangkok.

Responsibilities

  • Embody Pagoda Values –¬†Ensure a fantastic participant experience; with a focus on cultural exchange, career competency gains and development and personal development.
  • Visas and Compliance¬†– Help to ensure all documentation and due diligence checks are complete for participants and take an active lead on visa administration in compliance with local rules and regulations.
  • Participant Management & Support¬†– Take overall charge of the delivery of programmes “on the ground”¬† overseeing the success of each participant’s progress on a Pagoda Programme. This will involve dealing with ad-hoc issues, providing support, whilst ensuring that an inclusive, safe, and enjoyable programme is experienced by all.
  • Accommodation Management –¬†Source, book and manage accommodation for all participants – ensure quality is maintained, any issues resolved and requests are handled timely and clearly communicated internally and externally if brought to your attention.
  • Airport Pickups and Company Drop Offs¬†– Manage timelines and transportation, communicate processes and ensure that these programme elements are organised in line with health and safety protocols and company expectations.
  • Business Development –¬†Develop and grow your personal network, represent Pagoda in your city, and look to bring on new host companies and partners.
  • Be Global-Local¬†– Bring your unique experiences, culture, and knowledge to the role – this will allow us to set up for success in your location we also will be encouraging you to engage in a global growth mindset to abide by company SOPs and company values.
  • Take the lead¬†on the organisation of activities, dinners, social activities, and trips.
  • Attention to detail¬†– Ensure all on-boarding documentation is complete, that participants’ time on the programme is enjoyable and that departure from the city/country is clearly organised and communicated.
  • Follow up regularly¬†to provide updates on issues, and proactively try to solve these whenever possible.
  • Clearly document¬†all issues which require your significant attention to ensure to escalate for feedback any issues to the Delivery Team Leader and¬†other senior managers¬†as required.
  • Be prepared¬†to respond to emergencies, as well as any participant check-in data which is raised by our central team as cause for concern.
  • Fully support¬†other¬†team members ensuring you work as a team to deliver excellent programmes at a scale that exceeds the expectations of our partners.
  • Mentor the wider team¬†on your local culture, things to do, hidden gems, and cultural considerations. We want to learn from you!
  • Provide regular input and suggestions¬†to team meetings and monthly team huddles – these are arranged centrally and your attendance will be encouraged.
  • Put participants’ wellbeing first –¬†Ensure any issues are effectively flagged to first the Delivery Team Leader and escalated to the leadership team as required.
  • Manage expectations¬†in terms of your communication, especially when working across time zones.
  • Share –¬†Assist with the creation of marketing content and video content from your city.

Requirements

  • A graduate from a university.
  • Professional-level English.
  • Knowledge of Bangkok is desirable.
  • Experience in career coaching or advising students on career direction is desirable.
  • Demonstrable global mindset and interest in other cultures.
  • Natural ability to balance professionalism and familiarity.

Our Offer

  • Salary – 480,000 Thai Baht per year, pro-rata for duration of contract (negotiable dependent on level of experience)

General responsibilities and role assumptions:

The role of a remote intern in our company will give you a close insight of our leading remote internship programme, assisting with the planning of ongoing employability sessions and internships programmes in collaboration with our several destinations around the world!

The remote summer internship role we’re recruiting for are full-time positions, Monday-Friday each week and focused on supporting the team as Pagoda Projects deliver a remote internship programme for our university and government partners!

We are a relatively small and family-run business, so you will be welcomed as part of the family and able to enjoy a friendly working atmosphere. The internships we offer have variety of duties, but each role is tailored to every candidate and their skills.

We have 5 main areas of the internship that we’ll ask you throughout the application process of what you’re interested in. These are: sales, business development, marketing, events management, and design. A summary of the duties can be found in the internship description below.

Internship Description:

  • Participant data management and general administration tasks.
  • Editing, Photoshop design for a multitude of different purposes with in-house training available.
  • Create press releases and articles, then aim to get them published for press exposure
  • Assisting our online marketing team by posting internship positions on relevant job boards and university careers pages.
  • Blog writing, posting on social networks and contributing to relevant online forums.
  • Email newsletter creation using Mailchimp and photoshop.
  • Assist with the coordination of our alumni network, gather feedback, and create relevant statistics for marketing purposes.
  • Assisting with general administration, answering participant questions, and working through on-going group projects and scholarship schemes.
  • Business development research projects for our different branches.

Requirements:

  • Student or recent graduate
  • Fluent in English. Another European language would be a plus but not a must.
  • Students on business, language or Chinese/Spanish/Vietnamese Studies related degree programs are preferred, but applicants with any degree program will be considered.
  • Tech savvy. Able to use office software effectively.
  • Familiar with all main social networking sites.
  • Hard-working and committed.

The new Marketing Assistant, you perhaps, will support the Marketing Coordinator in filling programme spots with students and recent graduates from around the world. Day-to-day, the successful candidate will manage social media channels, create visual content for campaigns, and assist in developing email funnels and paid media campaigns.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the sales and admissions teams to develop the ideal campaign
  • Attend careers fairs and present on opportunities at universities around the UK
  • Manage paid ad campaigns on Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok
  • Manage Pagoda’s social media channels
  • Assist in managing administrative duties within the marketing department
  • Create programme campaign reports and identify trends in what’s working and what’s not (through Google Analytics and reporting on various paid ad platforms)
  • Optimize website SEO and assist in creating SEO-optimized blog posts
  • Create content for universities so that they can promote Pagoda programmes to their students
  • Manage email funnels and campaigns
  • Network with student societies and unions to fill programme places
  • Present at online info sessions to groups of students
  • Assist in managing alumni ambassadors

Who are you?

You’re extremely organized and a self-starter. With an international team and frequent travel required from the Marketing Coordinator (whom you report to), there won’t always be someone there to answer a question right away. You’re comfortable making a judgement call or moving on to a different project in the meantime. You’re passionate about content and are capable of handling multiple campaigns at once with communications coming from different teams and universities about what they need. You also love a train ride because there may be a few of those in your future!

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A keen eye for design and experience using Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Great communication skills and the ability to interact with stakeholders effectively across social media campaigns and email communications
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation
  • To be comfortable working on projects with cross-functional and virtual teams
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics
  • Familiarity with Paid Advertising platforms and ad formats
  • Photography and videography experience
  • Outspoken – have fresh ideas and don’t be afraid to share them
  • Photography and videography experience
  • Experience with Hubspot, Mailerlite, and WordPress (not essential – but a big plus!)

Location

  • UK-based ideally located with good train connections as travel around the UK is needed

Salary & Part-Time Details

  • This is a part-time role with a pro-rata salary of ¬£24,000/year
  • 30 hours per week (flexible working times around your schedule)

You’ll be building relationships with companies in Manchester and across the UK. We’re looking to expand internship opportunities as part of our funded programmes and graduate opportunities for our recent alumni. You’ll be proactively bringing new companies on board and working with students seeking opportunities as part of our university-funded programmes.
