General responsibilities and role assumptions:

The role of a remote intern in our company will give you a close insight of our leading remote internship programme, assisting with the planning of ongoing employability sessions and internships programmes in collaboration with our several destinations around the world!

We are looking to recruit (for the first time) in the Australiasia region for team members who will bring new ideas, energy, and support to the growing Pagoda Team. This will be a paid internship and offers opportunities for candidates able to commit 3 days a week.

We are a relatively small and family-run business, so you will be welcomed as part of the family and able to enjoy a friendly working atmosphere. The internships we offer have a variety of duties, but each role is tailored to every candidate and their skills.

We are looking for candidates who can help out with our busy winter programme (your summer) – helping to deliver award-winning programmes, you’ll be positively impacting on young people across the world. Not only that, you’ll be supporting our Pagoda membership team and student marketing activities with exciting projects across the world as well as general administrative support and ad-hoc tasks and projects throughout the coming months.

Internship Description:

This is a wide-ranging internship and you’ll be expected to participate in several of our Pagoda sub-teams- delivery of remote programmes, Pagoda membership, and student marketing.

General Programme Delivery (Remote)

  • Embody Pagoda Values: provide fantastic participant experience, focus on competency gains and career development.
  • Coordinate, participant, and manage online events (Asian time zones)
  • Participant Management – manage all aspects of a participants programme
  • Regularly post updates on the Pagoda App and communicate with participants via the app whenever possible (over email)
  • Follow up regularly to provide updates on issues, proactively trying to solve them whenever possible.
  • Respond proactively and sensitively to all check-ins received and escalate as required to the “extra support” process.
  • Provide regular input and suggestions to team meetings and monthly team huddles
  • Put participant wellbeing first and ensure any issues are effectively flagged to first the Delivery Team Leader and escalate to the leadership team as required.

Other Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation  for our Membership Teams
  • Assisting our online marketing team by posting internship positions on relevant job boards and university careers pages.
  • Blog writing, posting on social networks and contributing to relevant online forums.
  • Assist with the coordination of our alumni network, gather feedback, and create relevant statistics for marketing purposes.
  • Assisting with general administration, answering participant questions, and working through on-going group projects and scholarship schemes.

Requirements:

  • Student or recent graduate
  • Able to start in November and commit part-time at least until February (3 months)
  • Fluent in a second (or a third) language is highly desirable.
  • Students on business, language or Chinese/Spanish/Vietnamese Studies-related degree programs are preferred, but applicants with any degree program will be considered.
  • Tech-savvy. Able to use office software effectively and work remotely.
  • Familiar with all main social networking sites.
  • Hard-working and committed.
  • Enthusiastic about travel and discovering new cultures.
  • Proactive with the ability to take the initiative.
  • Have excellent time management and communication skills

The remote summer internship role we’re recruiting for are full-time positions, Monday-Friday each week and focused on supporting the team as Pagoda Projects deliver a remote internship programme for our university and government partners!

We are a relatively small and family-run business, so you will be welcomed as part of the family and able to enjoy a friendly working atmosphere. The internships we offer have variety of duties, but each role is tailored to every candidate and their skills.

We have 5 main areas of the internship that we’ll ask you throughout the application process of what you’re interested in. These are: sales, business development, marketing, events management, and design. A summary of the duties can be found in the internship description below.

Internship Description:

  • Participant data management and general administration tasks.
  • Editing, Photoshop design for a multitude of different purposes with in-house training available.
  • Create press releases and articles, then aim to get them published for press exposure
  • Assisting our online marketing team by posting internship positions on relevant job boards and university careers pages.
  • Blog writing, posting on social networks and contributing to relevant online forums.
  • Email newsletter creation using Mailchimp and photoshop.
  • Assist with the coordination of our alumni network, gather feedback, and create relevant statistics for marketing purposes.
  • Assisting with general administration, answering participant questions, and working through on-going group projects and scholarship schemes.
  • Business development research projects for our different branches.

Requirements:

  • Student or recent graduate
  • Fluent in English. Another European language would be a plus but not a must.
  • Students on business, language or Chinese/Spanish/Vietnamese Studies related degree programs are preferred, but applicants with any degree program will be considered.
  • Tech savvy. Able to use office software effectively.
  • Familiar with all main social networking sites.
