FAQs

Yes. As with all Pagoda Projects programmes, you will know exactly how much you will be paid, interview with the placement company and confirm your placement before committing to the programme. The salary for Taipei placements will easily cover living expenses (rent, food etc) and meet minimum legal requirements.

This usually depends on the placement company – Most of our partner companies don’t require any Chinese language skills though.
As you will be living in Taipei for a while, we do encourage you to do some self learning of the basics though to help you settle in.

For the Taipei programme you will be issued a working holiday visa. Pagoda Projects will guide you through the visa application process and help you register in Taipei.

Please note that the application fee refund does not include any other other costs associated with the visa application. Certain nationalities may be required to pay for health checks, criminal records/background checks, notorization costs, additional costs for expedited services or travel or postage required in order to successfully obtain a Taiwan Visa.

Pagoda Projects can not be held accountable for the outcome of your visa application nor can we cover any fees, visa application or otherwise, should your visa application be unsuccessful and you do not complete a programme with us. If you have any questions about acquiring a Working Holiday Visa please let us know.

Our Taipei placements are full time, so you will work roughly 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday for at least 6 months. Placement extensions upto 12 months total can be considered on an individual basis.

We are currently offering placements in the Business, Design, Education, Engineering, Finance, HR, Hospitality, IT, Law, Logistics, Marketing, Media, Sales and Translation sectors.

We’re continually adding new partner companies and looking to increase the diverse range of roles we offer, so look through the listings again in the near future if you feel none of the positions are suitable at this time.

There is funding available from Brunel University for eligible students to cover our programme fees. You will need to fund your own return flights to Taiwan and your own accommodation. However, your salary will cover the cost of your housing and we’ll help you find somewhere appropriate for your stay. Please let us know if you have any questions about costs/funding.
