Role:
ESG Toolkit Services Intern
Internship Description:
As an ESG Toolkit Services Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our ESG and impact investing initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and compiling contact details (address, email, phone number, website, and Chief Investment Officer name) of Swiss/Geneva-based Asset Managers (impact investors and Family Offices) for introduction to the Impact Lions’ Den, utilizing the Sustainable Finance Geneva (SFG) database and our own impact investor database.
- Identifying and compiling contact details (address, email, phone number, website, and Chief Investment Officer name) of Geneva-based Foundations for introduction to the Impact Lions’ Den and for our SRG partnership fundraising purposes (capacity building fund and faith-based fund).
- Developing concise talking points (1-2 paragraphs) outlining existing or potential impact investing/ESG capacities for the organisations mentioned above, categorized, for use when contacting Chief Investment Officers of small-to-medium-sized Pension Funds to market our ESG services.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of an analytical ESG Investment toolkit to enhance understanding of the relationship between ESG factors and financial performance data of Pension Funds, Foundations, and Family Offices.
- Ensuring the commitment of our impact investors (Impact Lions) to participate in the Impact Lions’ Den events (targeting 3-5 investors per event).
- Ensuring that 50+ Economic Support Organisations (ESOs), such as accelerators, sign financial services agreements to provide us with investment-ready companies for our e-pitching events (Impact Lions’ Den).
- Assisting in the organisation of our new podcast series – “Invisible Heart” – featuring interviews with Swiss-based Impact Fund managers investing in the Global South, in collaboration with our Indian partners who will interview India-based Impact Fund managers.
- Completing ad-hoc assignments (e.g., impact investing consultancy/advisory for private or public clients) to support 4IP’s growing operations.
Providing regular reports to 4IP, including weekly team meeting updates and monthly written reports.
Internship Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- Excellent communication skills – the ability to articulate opinions persuasively, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong technical skills – the ability to develop and manipulate financial models for companies and private equity funds (e.g., LBO models, valuation models, fund cash flow models).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills – the ability to identify and articulate key investment considerations and risks across various industries and businesses. The ability to constructively review and critique team members’ work, and a willingness to consider diverse perspectives.
- Excellent interpersonal and team skills – comfort with consensus decision-making and working in a cross-border, team-based environment.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- A genuine passion for and understanding of the private equity industry.
