o be eligible, you must:

  • Currently be enrolled at the University of Auckland
    (cannot have finished your final year by the time the internship begins)
  • Be continuing your studies in 2025
  • Be an undergraduate or postgraduate student
  • Be available full or part-time from 9th December 2024 for the full programme duration and the following hours:
    • 8-10 week duration: 20-40 hours per week
    • 10-12 week duration: 10 hours or more per week

(*) Students are required to pay a $120 NZD non-refundable contribution when committing to the programme

Programme Dates

Start Date: 9th December 2024
Duration: 8-12 Weeks

You will complete an 8-12 week internship with a global host company, choosing from a variety of roles and sectors. Each online internship is Monday-Friday (full-time) although the working hours each week may differ slightly between duration and host companies.

This programme benefits from UoA funding for eligible students, meaning students are only required to pay a non-refundable $120 NZD contribution when confirming your place on the programme.

Application Process

Pagoda will be accepting applications until 9th September 2024. We will provide confirmation of acceptance onto the programme once approved by your university.

1. REGISTER INTEREST

Once you registered your interest via the form below, we’ll be in touch within 24 hours to request the next steps. 

2. APPLICATION FORM AND VIDEO

Our team will help you establish your eligibility and suitability for the programme, as well as answer any questions you may have.

You will be asked to complete the application form and video submission before the application deadline. Questions and guidelines will be provided. 

3. OUTCOMES AND ONBOARDING

Successful candidates will then be informed of next steps for programme onboarding and supported through the necessary predeparture steps.

All programmes are managed on the Pagoda Portal - a digital hub for our student community. This is where you can track your progress, register for events, access skills courses, network with other interns and request additional support.

Programme Components

An internship is the best way to gain exposure in your chosen field. And our online programmes will provide you with the key industry, digital and communication skills you need to succeed in any remote workplace. You’ll attend meetings remotely, work with industry-specific software, and use what you’ve learnt at university to make decisions that have a real impact.

We’ll help you with your CV, cover letter and organise interviews to set you up properly for success.

The Online Skills Courses

Our online skills courses focus on Employability, Digital Competency and Intercultural Fluency. They’ll provide you with the skills and agility needed for a global and ever-changing workplace. Upon completion, you’ll receive a certificate to keep, post on LinkedIn and show to future employers.

Intercultural Fluency

This course provides an understanding of the importance of adaptability when dealing with intercultural communication in the workplace and society. We focus on the foundations of intercultural understanding and will develop your cultural fluency, exploring relevant case studies.

Digital Competency

This course introduces the fundamentals of digital networking, digital marketing, and digital presentations skills. This course will introduce LinkedIn features and how to make the most of your LinkedIn profile, key differences and benefits between a variety of social media platforms, basic knowledge of SEO and SEM and techniques to improve public speaking skills in a digital context.

Employability Skills

This course equips you with the tools to identify your current skill set and gain an understanding of the skills needed to enhance career readiness. Self-awareness exercises will build confidence for students looking to apply their skills to different specifications when applying for jobs in the future.

Workplace Basics

This course provides an understanding of the skills required to succeed in a remote workplace. We focus on key skills such as productivity, time management, communication and the use of digital platforms, and the importance of being adaptable when working in a global, professional environment.

A unique way to share cultures

As part of this programme, you’ll be paired with a cultural mentor from one of our amazing in-country destinations. Your mentor will check in regularly and provide current topics for you both to discuss. This improves your intercultural awareness and cross-communication skills, which are integral for working in a global organisation. 

Maximising your exposure to different cultures will make you feel comfortable when collaborating with future colleagues and external partners. It will also bridge barriers and connect you with other students or graduates around the world.
