Internship Code: TPBS117
Company Description:
This company is working on combining 3D printing and artificial intelligence to create a future where manufacturing is faster, greener, and more flexible than ever before. 3D printing for mass production, also known as additive manufacturing (AM), is uniquely capable of producing parts that are exponentially lighter and stronger than those produced by traditional manufacturing methods. Those parts make planes, trains, and automobiles lighter and more efficient so that they use less fuel and produce fewer greenhouse gases. Additive manufacturing is also revolutionizing health and medicine as well, by producing biocompatible medical implants that promote bone ingrowth and accelerate the healing process.
The company is currently focused on improving metal 3D printing by addressing the problem of sintering distortion, widely regarded as the critical bottleneck of bound metal AM.
