GLOBAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM – SUMMER 2023
In 2023 we are expanding on the success of our Global Internship program by offering a limited number of places to partners in North America. Our program is available either in-person or online.
Students will take part alongside 20 international postgraduate students from our Scottish partner universities, the University of Dundee and University of Stirling.
Students taking part will have the option of different global locations, hundreds of specific internships across a variety of sectors, and full support from the Pagoda team.
Regardless of destination, internship and sector you choose, Pagoda will support students before, during and after the program, source quality housing, assist with the required visa and be there in-country to ensure amazing summer experience!

PROGRAM DETAILS
MORE THAN JUST AN INTERNSHIP
This 8 week international internship program can either be completed online or in-person.
Choose from 100s of companies from an exciting range of international destinations.
Internship Start Date – 22nd May 2023
Internship End Date – 14th July 2023
- In-person internship experience in your chosen sector (unpaid)
- Apartment accommodation

APPLICATION PROCESS
Pagoda will be taking applications from students in early 2023, with the aim of providing confirmation and acceptances onto the program by end of February 2023.
Specific places will only be confirmed from March 2022.

PRE-PLACEMENT
Students will get to know Pagoda, the opportunities available and select the ideal program format. Pagoda will host promotional sessions so students are able to find out more, but know a member of the Pagoda team will always be available to book in a call for more one-to-one support.

PLACEMENT PROCESS
A member of the team will start the placement process and students to select preferred roles from our website. Once a company is happy to consider a student for their role, Pagoda will introduce them for a formal video interview. This is a great chance to ask the host company lots of questions and assess whether that role is a good fit. Pagoda will endeavour to facilitate as many interviews as possible until a student has secured the perfect role.

PROGRAM CONFIRMATION & COMMENCEMENT
In-Person Program: Pagoda will provide detailed instructions for visa application, provide support for flight booking and finalise accommodation for in-person internships. Once students arrive for in-person internships, our team will pick students up from the airport, help them settle into accommodation and arrange a fun orientation within the first 2 days of their stay, before an internship starts.
Online Program: Start on-boarding, training and gain access to a range of online resources and to a personalised management account for the online internship. Pagoda will ensure students have joined all the relevant groups via the Pagoda Portal, formally introduce students to their host company and have everything set up for the first day of each online internship.

The process of securing an internship will begin in spring 2023, where students will review the full position and company outlines within our range of opportunities. Students select which internships to apply for, interview directly with companies and accept an offer of an internship.

HO CHI MINH CITY

Known for being one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, Madrid is the heart of the country. In the city you can find a range of cultural and historical treasures such as the Royal Palace. Also known for its renaissance and contemporary art museums, sunny blue skies and unique neighbourhoods. There is an endless amount of things to do in Madrid.
LISBON
Lisbon is the stunning capital of Portugal. Blending traditional heritage with modernism, Lisbon holds a rich and varied history with a buzzing nightlife. As a safe and friendly city, it’s easy to explore with so much to see. Famed for its rattling tram lines and oozing colourful architecture. Visiting Lisbon is a win all round.

ACCOMMODATION
FURNISHED APARTMENT ACCOMMODATION
The on-site Pagoda team in each destination sources and manages apartment accommodation for participants, in line with our accommodation quality policy.
Students are provided with aĀ private bedroom and any shared facilities will always be with Pagoda participants only. Female-only accommodation is available and provided at no additional cost, with all located on good transport links in secure area of the cities where Pagoda delivers programs.
SUPPORT
PERSONALIZED SUPPORT THROUGHOUT EACH PAGODA EXPERIENCE
Our Student Support Outline gives a comprehensive guide to our support. 24/7 emergency support is included in every in-person program.
Our local teams organise regular optional social, networking and travel activities for participants. This includes weekly dinners and weekend trips to fit around participants’ schedules. Our local knowledge helps students discover hidden gems and visit sites on a student budget.

The appās functionality is built for communities and allows users to engage, share and communicate with each other whilst maintaining a high level of privacy.
A UNIQUE WAY TO SHARE CULTURES
As part of the Remote Internship Program interns will be partnered with a ‘Cultural Mentor’, who will help them to increase their intercultural awareness. This cultural exposure will not only assist the intern during their internship and collaborating with colleagues and external partners, but will also bridge barriers and connect students and graduates from all corners of the globe.

DIGITAL COMPETENCY / CULTURAL FLUENCY / EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS / WORKPLACE BASICS
Pagoda Projects have developed a series of skills courses set to encourage the development of student and recent graduateā current skillset with the fundamental elements needed to improve their āwork readinessā for a post-pandemic business world.
The skills series includes courses focusing on Intercultural Fluency, Employability and Digital Competency. We believe this framework provides the learner with the agility needed for a global and ever-changing workplace, preparing them with the knowledge to communicate effectively within an international work-group or team, tackle the job market with awareness, preparation and confidence and have a strong understanding of the importance of ādigitalā once they enter the workplace.
As qualifications remain a vital measure of achievement, a certificate is provided following each completed course
